Ortho

  • Overview:

Orthopaedic Physiotherapy is an oldest branch of Physiotherapy and is oriented towards the treatment of Musculo-Skeletal ailments. It involves regaining appropriate health and function of structures surrounding the Joint regions and normalising the Biomechanical alignment. Recent evidences suggest that Pre-habilitation of the patients is very important along with the Rehabilitation. A wide variety of techniques like Exercising, Manual therapy, Taping etc have gained importance recently and were used in Rehabilitation.

    Ongoing Research

    • Comparing the effectiveness of maitland versus mulligan along with conventional exercises in patients with adhesive capsulitis.
    • Compare the effectiveness of static stretching versus muscle energy techniques on hamstring tightness among student population.
    • Compare to effectiveness of mckenzie exercises versus core training in subjects with non specific low back ache.
    • Effectiveness of mobilization with movement versus eccentric exercise in subjects with lateral epicondylitis.
    • Efficacy of mulligan technique versus muscle energy on functional ability in sujjects with adhesive capsulitis.

Sports

  • Overview:

Overview A graduate degree in sports physical therapy provides students with the skills and knowledge necessary to gain entry into the field of physical therapy. Students learn how to help athletes recuperate after sports trauma. A physical therapist who has specialized in sports rehabilitation trains and assists athletes in their recovery from a sports-related injury Sports physical therapists help rehabilitate athletes who have sustained physical injuries. They diagnose problems and evaluate patient progress throughout a treatment plan. Work can be physically demanding; physical therapists often stand for long periods and assist patients within the process of therapy.
